Young Carers are children and young people, 25 years or under, who help to support a family member or friend who has a disability, mental illness, drug or alcohol dependency, chronic condition, terminal illness or who is frail.

Hey guys, I'm Amie as you've probably read. Im sixteen years old and I care for my younger sister who is ten. Since my sister was born she hasn't lived a day without pain. She was born with a rare genetic disorder, which causes un-normality features, and has traits that has caused other things to make her even sicker

Young Carer Leadership Program 2014 
Carers NSW Young Carer Program are offering a number of leadership opportunities to passionate young carers from all across NSW. Travel to Sydney for a jam packed 2 day workshop where you will learn leadership, media and presentation skills. Not only will you learn and develop new skills, you’ll also get to meet other young carers and check out some of the sights of Sydney!!

YC Opportunities 
Young people, aged 12 to 25, are being encouraged to nominate for the 2014 National Youth Awards! The awards are a celebration of young Australians and the aim is promote the amazing contribution they make to the nation. The best thing about the National Youth Awards is that they were designed by young people, for young people! The selection panel is also made up exclusively of young Australians!
